Nasceu em 1878 e tornou-se uma figura marcante da hist\u00f3ria portuguesa ao ser a primeira mulher a votar em Portugal, no dia 28 de maio de 1911, nas elei\u00e7\u00f5es para a Assembleia Nacional Constituinte.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-91f9ac6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"91f9ac6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Na altura, o c\u00f3digo eleitoral dava direito de voto a cidad\u00e3os portugueses maiores de 21 anos que soubessem ler e escrever ou fossem chefes de fam\u00edlia. A lei n\u00e3o especificava o sexo dos eleitores. Carolina, vi\u00fava, com forma\u00e7\u00e3o superior e chefe de fam\u00edlia, reunia todas as condi\u00e7\u00f5es legais.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-53d6f79 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"53d6f79\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Mesmo assim, o seu pedido para votar foi inicialmente recusado. Carolina n\u00e3o desistiu: recorreu ao tribunal e ganhou a causa. O juiz decidiu que a lei n\u00e3o exclu\u00eda as mulheres. Gra\u00e7as a essa decis\u00e3o, Carolina p\u00f4de votar, ficando inscrita nos cadernos eleitorais da freguesia de S. Jorge de Arroios, em Lisboa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0c9edb8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"0c9edb8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A imprensa da \u00e9poca deu grande destaque ao acontecimento. O jornal\u00a0<i>A Capital<\/i>\u00a0falou numa \u201cvit\u00f3ria do feminismo nacional\u201d, e a\u00a0<i>Ilustra\u00e7\u00e3o Portuguesa<\/i>\u00a0publicou uma reportagem com fotografias de Carolina Beatriz \u00c2ngelo ao lado de Ana de Castro Os\u00f3rio, Presidente da Liga das Sufragistas Portuguesas.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-40b2b7f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"40b2b7f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Apesar do impacto deste momento, o voto feminino n\u00e3o foi consagrado na Constitui\u00e7\u00e3o de 1911. Em 1913, uma nova lei eleitoral voltou a limitar o direito de voto apenas aos cidad\u00e3os do sexo masculino. Carolina Beatriz \u00c2ngelo morreu em outubro de 1911, com apenas 33 anos, sem ver reconhecido o direito de voto das mulheres em Portugal.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f7571ba elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f7571ba\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>O sufr\u00e1gio feminino s\u00f3 foi parcialmente introduzido em 1931.
