We begin our walk through the Park, enjoying a break that the persistent rain of recent weeks has allowed us to enjoy.<\/p>\n<p>Olaf Eliasson, a Danish-Icelandic artist known for his sculptures and large-scale installations, is responsible for the annual grand exhibit in the park, called &#8220;Y\/Our Future Is Now.&#8221; Author of a vast work that stimulates a living perception of the space between the natural and the artificial and addresses questions and ideas about urbanism, sustainable development, climate change and new forms of energy production. Works that merge with Serralves Park, but also with the museum itself. To discover and explore!<\/p>\n<p>The Park is also the space that hosts the \u201cTreetop Walk\u201d, a treetop walkway that allows the observation and study experience of Serralves Park Biodiversity. This project, designed by Architect Carlos Castanheira in collaboration with Architect \u00c1lvaro Siza Vieira, is expected to have an impact on environmental awareness and respect for nature conservation, both national and international. In addition to enjoying the beauty of the trees, it is undoubtedly a very interesting place for all photography lovers.<\/p>\n<p>The Manoel de Oliveira Cinema House, inaugurated in June 2019, is a new space that besides a permanent exhibition, a documentation center and regular cinema sessions, allows regular access to the work of one of the great names of Portuguese cinema. For the time being, you will only be able to visit a room with some of the international awards Manoel de Oliveira has won during his career, as well as an interactive videowall with access to a global trip through the director&#8217;s work.<\/p>\n<p>We move to the exhibition of one of the greatest Portuguese artists, which needs no presentation: Paula Rego. The nucleus of the artist&#8217;s works in the Serralves collection, made between 1975 and 2004, is the starting point for \u201cThe Cry of Imagination\u201d, a monographic exhibition marking Paula Rego&#8217;s return to Serralves after the 1998 and 2004 exhibitions. It is undoubtedly an excellent opportunity to visit Casa de Serralves and admire her work, which represent a sixty-year-old career, who in addition to defining a new paradigm in contemporary Portuguese painting, has achieved a unique visibility and status internationally. Also 20 years later, Serralves hosts the exhibition IN \/ DISCIPLINA, by one of the most respected Portuguese architects, responsible for the creation of the museum itself: \u00c1lvaro Siza Vieira. This exhibition portrays more than six decades of the architect&#8217;s work, based on original documents: thirty projects presented in drawings and mockups, sketchbooks and photographs of the author and his work.
